The decider

Published by SJ under General

Ok here we are people, on the eve of the grandest game of all. Queensland V New South Wales in a battle for rugby league supremacy for the next 12 months.

Unfortunately the tip I received about Trent Barrett making a surprise return for game 3 hasn’t come to fruition and I am not overly impressed with the inclusion of Braith Anasta. I am however excited at the prospect of watching the debut of the seemingly talented rooster Mitchell Pearce.

In the words or Tony Grieg (12th man version) “well this poor little bastard, he would be shitting himself” understatement of the year in my opinion. Throwing a 19 year old origin virgin smack bang into the biggest game in a couple of years is a huge gamble. I have seen enough of him play to be reasonably impressed so far but whether he can handle origin at its most ferocious is another story.

As a Queensland supporter I am fine to see him not perform well but, as a league fan I hope he does enough as to not destroy his confidence and possibly risk his future career. There is also a possibility he will be bashed from pillar to post but big Willie Mason is telling all and sundry he will be protected. No offence Willie but on your recent form your couldn’t protect a warm cup of urine, you or your forward pack. For mine Gallen, Tupou, Hoffman as well as Mason will need a huge improvement if they are going to allow Pearce the time he is going to need to get a footing and move the pill about.

Either way I believe me and 5 other mates are having our combined Stables Club $1,080.00 all on Queensland to win at $1.60 for a possible return of $1,728.00.

GO QUEENSLAND!!!!!!!!
