UFC 86: Griffin Wins?

Published by SJ under General

Well here we are, on the eve of another sporting event that I have been looking forward to for 6 months.

Jackson V Griffin in a match that promises to be one of the best straight up wars in world history. There I have said it, this could very well be the best fight EVER!!

In one hand, you have Quinton Rampage Jackson. A man who has done his time in the tough Japanese ranks and proven to be one of the best fighters on the planet. A man who stepped over into the UFC and in his second fight in the Octagon knocked out the UFC’s poster boy and light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell.

In the other, you have Forrest Griffin. A man who had his arm broken in a fight and still managed to knock his opponent out (if you look at his arm today you can still see where the break was never reset). A man who doesn’t feel at home in a fight until he has a 3 inch gash in his forehead. A man who beat Mauricio Rua in his most recent fight, with Rua being the last man walking the planet to have beaten Rampage.

Griffin is definitely the underdog but I just have a feeling that he can win the light heavyweight title on Sunday afternoon. That is the real beauty of the UFC, anyone can beat anyone on any given day.

I am interested to see the rest of the card but the main event is one of the most exciting fights in recent memory. I think if you watch it you may just well realise why the UFC and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is going to take over the sporting world.

Anyone interested in watching can give me a call and I can try and tee up a chair at the ranch for you to sit back, sink a couple of beers and watch the action unfold from about 12PM.
