The tale of two races

Published by SJ under General

We are finally at an end of the longest campaigns in my experience. Holy moley, after thousands of hours, thousands of people and over a billion dollars the United States has chosen their leader. I wonder if the result would have been different if both parties were given only 30 days to campaign?

Regardless, Obama is now the leader and it sounds like he has some big changes planned. It will be interesting to see what happens from here.

The Melbourne Cup left me slightly deflated with Viewed taking an upset victory by a bee’s dick over Bauer. I am sure they are wheeling Bart Cummings out weekend at Bernie’s style, but the old bugger just keeps landing Melbourne Cups and what a way to win your 250th group 1 race.

Kudos to Blake Shinn as well, a young jockey I have followed for most of his career. I just wished I had followed him on Viewed. For someone who gets suspended every second meeting he has done well.

And lastly, what the hell was Aidan O’Brien thinking? He sent Septimus and his other two runners out like it was a six-furlong sprint. Absolute NIFF!!!! He may have trained a million group 1’s but I wouldn’t let him train my donkey!
