Did Andrew Symonds murder someone? Did he bash them? Did he touch them on the arse? I am not sure if he did any of these but I understand he did tell someone to leave him alone. Is that now the crime of the century?

Or is the crime that fact that he was having a beer?

In his own words…

“A member of the public acted unreasonably towards me while I was with friends at which time I took steps to remove myself from the situation,”

“The member of the public was subsequently removed from the premises as a result of his actions.

“I was sharing some drinks with other players and close friends and did not in any way provoke this situation.”

Given the fact that this occurred in a public bar I find it difficult to believe he would have made these statements had events have occurred otherwise.

Reports from ‘other’ sources quote Symonds as being loud and obnoxious with friends distancing themselves from the situation. Last I checked, neither of these were illegal.

Please oh please leave the big fella alone, we need him at 100% for the Adelaide test on starting on Friday.

FYI New Zealand are paying $11 the win. The way Australian sport has been going lately this seems a little over the odds to me.
