NSW Origin Selectors = NIFFS

Published by SJ under General

The one thing I have come to love about anyone involved or even claiming support of the state of New South Wales is that they are all dirty rotten scumbags. They pick a team for the new state of origin season under the premise that it is an all new, young generation and that they would give the young brigade a few games together to have a fair crack at it.

One game in and their turncoat selectors have dumped new up start playmaker Terry Campese for the old and tired Trent Barrett. I could live with this decision had it been in reverse ie. had Barrett been given yet another chance and failed and the young Campese given the green light to take over but this defies logic.

It really is the perfect result for a brand new young player isn’t it? Give him a camp in origin, let him try and get settled with the team, coaches and inevitable pressure of the biggest game of his life, THEN drop him like a dog if the team loses.

This is the typical short sightedness that is unfortunately so prevalent in today’s hollow perception based world and EVER so prevalent with anyone hailing from New South Wales. There is however a light at the end of this short tunnel, one good thing about rugby league is that everything is evened out in the end. In other words, truth prevails and New South Wales will suffer a crushing 3 nil defeat and the selectors / coach will feel the brutal cut that young Campese is now experiencing.

Campese may never get another chance but he should take solace in the future demise of his “superiors”.
