Main Event Solution for Affliction: Trilogy

Published by SJ under General

We have been hit with the news that Josh Barnett has tested positive for steroids and is out of next Sundays main event against Russian Heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko. Most annoying for me because I was really looking forward to it. This leaves the Affliction promotion with a massive problem to fill a main event in 9 days.

The current suggested solutions are for Vitor Belfort to step up from middleweight and face the seemingly unbeatable Russian or, for ex WWE wrestler Bobby Lashley to make a massive step up in class to face the WAMMA champ. I am not a huge fan of the first option as Belfort gives up some size and has been beaten by bigger men before. The second option would be entertaining and may be the better solution but I have a feeling that Lashley won’t be keen.

I have an alternative that may be laughed at by most, but the end game sees Emelianenko fighting in the Octagon by year end.

Dana White places a call to Randy Couture who is training for his upcoming UFC 102 fight with Nogueira. Gives him a 1-fight blessing to face Emelianenko in a match outside of the UFC next weekend. Randy will still be contracted to the UFC but fight a 1 off only deal for Affliction. The caveat is that Emelianenko will be required to sign a 2 – 3 fight deal with the UFC after the completion of this fight setting up a range of possible super fights in the upcoming 18 months.

I know this sounds stupid at first and would involve a lot of trust and cooperation on both sides (yes unlikely also), but if it happened both parties would be getting something out of it and we, the mixed martial arts fan would get to see some heavyweight fights we have all been dreaming of.

Have stranger things happened?

Dance you ass off or else

Published by SJ under General

UPDATE: Once again the power of this website prevails SHOW CANCELLED!!!

I have only just started seeing ads for this piece of crap and would like to reiterate that the same rules for yesterdays post apply today.

Who in their right mind would want to watch this? Honestly people I would like an answer. As it stands I envisage the following possibilities

Skinny people mercilessly laughing at fat people trying to dance
Fat people thinking this is a really good way to lose weight
Dancers laughing mercilessly at fat people trying to dance
1.78% of the population who have a liking for this rot
The people from Guerrilla Gardeners wondering how this show beats theirs
People to drunk to change the channel

That is it!

After watching the above clip while “researching” this television show I nearly changed my mind. But then I sobered up and stopped the movie! What is going on with the outfits? I am assuming the contestants have NEVER seen clips of what people used to wear in the 70’s and how stupid they looked?

Watch this show at your peril!

Australia’s Perfect Couple

Published by SJ under General

I verbally made it known on the weekend and now I will make it know to the world wide web, if you watch Australia’s Perfect Couple I will make it a point to come to your house individually and beat you to within 3.5 millimetres of your pitiful existence!!

A more blatant attempt at vane fame by insecure little people I have not seen!! I ask 1 simple question, WHO on this earth thinks that their relationship is so formidable that a competition on national television will result in fame and fortune beyond their wildest dreams without detrimental effect? Answer: Anyone who reads what is popular in New Weekly and Who magazine. The contestants of this show should be tarred and feathered in the middle of Lygon Street and there corpses spread to the four corners of this nation.

Let me spell this out to you. The followers of popular culture and fashion are the root cause of all that is wrong with this world. If you subscribe to their so called “culture” then you my dear reader are the niff of ALL nuffs and you should give yourself the uppercut of death before I am forced to perform the task individually.

If you would like to avoid this disheartening end, I suggest you snuggle up with a good encyclopaedia, pray I don’t knock on your door and come to the realisation that knowing who is sticking who in Hollywood bares meaning when the next lease statement on your fancy BMW comes in.

Wake up to yourselves!!

This weeks quady

Published by SJ under General

Another great week of sport is here. We have the final state of origine game in which Queensland face a very tough challenge to win the game back home in Brisbane. I am more than a little hesitant to smash the maroons.

Ricky Ponting is to busy sooking about the English team for playing slow to realise that he alone cost Australia any chance of wining! Get over it punter and concentrate on the next game which starts Thursday at Lords. A ground on which Australia have not lost a game on since 1934!

Then we have the British Open also starting Thursday night at Turnberry. 14 Aussies will press their case to loft the Claret Jug high in the air and bring it in close for a kiss and a cuddle. I am nearly getting sick of pushing the Adam Scott bandwagon as he has continued to disssapoint in majors for so long but this time perhaps we are at a cross roads. Last year Norman was strutting around with his new wife and played well… this year Scott is strutting around with new girlfriend Ana Ivanović. Surely this will get him home.

Last of all we have the first tri nations game between Australia and the Kiwis Saturday night. I am no where near as interested in this game as I used to be but I will be watching just in case a decent game breaks out.

My UFC 100 top five favourite moments.

Published by SJ under General

Tied for fifth..

5. Cracked the first beer 5 minutes before the start.

5. Alan Belcher does an off the cage superman punch that landed a treat. It is a shame that Akiyama just shrugged it off easily and waved him in for more.

4. Georges St Pierre telling the crowd that he is going to take some time to put on some muscle in an anticipated move up to Middleweight to pursue Anderson Silva.

3. Brock Lesnar DESTROYED Frank Mir just as my $100 said it would. I like his headlock face punch move too that is an awkward one to get out of by the looks.

2. Brock Lesnar’s post fight victory speech. Admitting he was going to lay on top of his wife and giving the crowd the bird is awesome!

1. While I thought Michael Bisping was a good chance against Dan Henderson I didn’t think the following would occur! KTFO!!! Bisping was up and stumbling around a few minutes later so he seemed ok but who knows.
