To win the ashes

Published by SJ under General

Australia is still in a very difficult position to win the ashes. They are playing at the home of rain and must contend with a vice captain who spends more time checking himself out in the mirror than Wendell Sailor.

Admittedly Clarke managed to score a century in a very low-pressure situation yesterday but even the dreadfully out of form Mike Hussey managed to get a half century. My theory is if Hussey can get a century the pitch either turned into a flat track heaven, or the English forgot how to bowl line and length or Hussey got dropped 5 or 6 times. All three occurred proving that even an 18 year retired Swampy Marsh could have smashed a triple century in about 23 overs.

Somehow there are rumours that Peter Siddle is going to be dropped for Brett Lee which is one of the more stupid things suggested in recent memory. First off, Brett Lee was bowling absolute rubbish before he got injured and second Mitchell Johnson has been bowling absolute rubbish this series. I did see glimpses of a Johnson return to form but it is to little to late for mine.

If anyone comes into the side it is Stuart Clark for Johnson and I would much rather have Ronald MacDonald batting for us than Shane ‘Watto’ Watson.

In all seriousness how is Hussey still there?
