He can fight that kid. Forrest Griffin had no answer to the dominant Brazilian who’s sublime striking wore out the normally physical Griffin in round one.

I feel a little sorry for Forrest Griffin as his reaction after the fight looked like that of a little school kid running away from a problem as he immediately left the Octagon and ran for the locker area. There is some discussion that his jaw was broken or dislocated early in the fight and after several further shots during the round more damage was done, to the point he wanted to get it checked immediately. I am not sure at this stage but if you have the testicular fortitude to step into the Octagon you deserve respect no matter how the fight ends (unless you turtle up and refuse to take part).

In the main event BJ Penn choked out a gallant Kenny Florian. It was funny that during the post match interview Penn stated that during the fight he was listening to Florian’s trainers calling out what punches / combos they wanted Kenny to throw and when Kenny obliged Penn was ready and waiting for them! Florians team may wish to revisit that tactic.
