I never doubted my battling Broncos would get through the representative season doldrums and start to shine as finals football approached. I never doubted them!!

Mondays performance against the Sharks was a welcome return to the winning form and its continuation this afternoon proved my never wavering faith was not misplaced.

Sure, they leaked a few points in the first half against the Penny Panthers and even went into the sheds behind at halftime but the most impressive feat was still to come. The second half was a domination from start to finish. From Teo to Yow Yeh to Winterstein to Thaiday to Yow Yeh and back to Teo the tries barley stopped.

Also exciting is the prospect that Darren “Turnstile” Lockyer ran to the line a tried a few things this match. Equally exciting is that some these ‘things’ actually came off!

Most importantly, the Penny Panthers have played the Broncos and Darren into form at the right time of the year, next stop the Saints. Lockyer said facing up to a Dragons team whose seven-game winning streak ended on Saturday night against Canberra would be a massive challenge.

“They’re the best team in the comp defensively and we don’t want to be leaking points against them,”

No you don’t Darren, no you don’t.
