Formula One: Motor Sport to Motor Parade
I usually watch each formula one race and while they lack pretty much any passing on the track at all, the strategy of refuelling at pit stops at least made the races a little bit interesting.
Now in their infinite wisdom the people that run formula one have removed the refuelling element from the race. Where previously a team that felt their car was very fast on light tanks could stop for fuel 3 times while another team that thought they could be quicker with only 2 stops would battle it out for the victory. Now they do not have the option.
They now have a mandatory tyre change but this is pretty much the same for everyone so I am unsure how the teams can now strategise their races. They all have to carry around full tanks at the start of the race and they will all have light tanks at the end. Thus Sunday’s Bahrain GP was as boring as bat shit.
Even Australia’s own Mark ‘walks under ladders’ Webber has come out stating his concern that this season could be one of the most boring on record. Having followed formula one for the better part of 2 decades I can confirm this would be tough to achieve and I can only hope the first race was a one off parade and it pisses down 3 or 4 times during the upcoming Melbourne GP on the 28th.
Anyway here is something for you to look at.
