Dear loyal readers, I hereby present to you exhibit ‘w’ proof that Australian housing prices are ridiculous.
For those who have never been out of Australia it may be difficult to believe but there are other places out there where the humble dollar travels a shite load further.
Take the United States for example. (In case you weren’t sure the USA is the biggest nominal economy in the world)
This joint has more money per capita than your have had hot breakfasts. Yet with more people to share their land, they are somehow purchasing property at far far cheaper values than you are afforded.

Combined figures from Residex and Australian Property Monitors show the median cost of a Darwin house is $549,035. This is Darwin for goodness sake!! A two-bedroom, free-standing house in the New York City metropolitan area (not including Manhattan) is about $80,000 less.
How can this be in all seriousness?
Example 2
London, where the median price for a two to three-bedroom house is $462,000 is some $90,000 cheaper than Darwin.
Nothing against Darwin but if you pooled 100,000 people from New York and London and told them that their new home would be need to be purchased in Darwin at significant premium ($85,000 odd) to that which they can achieve at home they would laugh in your face. They would laugh in your face and fly home.
Yet we have a nation full of consumers willing to pay over inflated prices without any thought to the outside world where evidence shows they are paying through the nose. If you think this is sustainable more power to you.
No? well rest assured your state is rubbish in all regards. Especially the ability to win games of rugby league football against your natural leaders QLD. You could not beat a tissue at the moment.
In all seriousness if the QLD selectors chose 12 tissues and Billy Slater we would still dominate NSW’s loserish asses.

I like the idea of shooting. If I wasn’t so lazy I would on occasion go to the shooting range and do some target shooting. I have never tried clay target shooting but if I did I reckon it would be pretty cool. I am guessing there is a good reason they make it quite hard to get and maintain a gun license, one day perhaps.
Anyways I just saw the following movie and its some pretty good shooting and an apparent new world record. If its not a record this guy is WAY to overexcited. Needless to say, don’t mouth off at this bloke and try and run off from this dude. He will not miss!
I am not anti Magda Szubanski in any way. I think she can be quite funny at and entertaining in certain roles. Not all roles to be fair but all in all she is good value. Well, good value for everyone except Jenny Craig.
As one who suffers the effects of a few extra kilos here or there (and that) I am a little hesitant to throw stones from my proverbial glasshouse but I can sit quietly no longer.
Each time I see her on TV I think it is a prime example of false advertising. She is claiming to have lost weight under Jenny Craig’s system and is suggesting that it works really really well. Is it? She don’t look like it to me.
I may be the meanest person alive (and possibly even incorrect) but claims that she lost 36 kg seem a little overplayed. All the ads she currently performs for Jenny Craig do not show a slim Magda but a slightly less fat Magda.
It is all about setting goals and working towards them so if Magda is still achieving this more power to her. But to shove her on TV when all doesn’t appear to be working seems a little silly.
I am going to tread carefully here because as per normal in origin, anything can and will happen. I hope for another series demolishing of the hapless Blues but if that does occur I think they only have themselves to blame.
Jamie Lyon plays as a centre for the Manly Sea Eagles. He is not the best centre in the game by a stretch. He sure as hell is not the best five-eighth in the game, yet here he is picked as NSW’s five-eighth. Players like Trent Barrett, Terry Campese, Jamie Soward, Braith Anasta and Brett Finch who play five-eighth all year round will sit in their living room watching while a non five-eighth battles for their state. Why?
Jarryd Hayne plays fullback for his team Parramatta. He nearly single-handedly took his club side to the grand final last year to be beaten by a now proven illegal team. He is a freak of nature floating around at fullback yet he has been chosen to play on a wing where his brilliance will be stifled by the sideline. No offense to Captain Kurt Gidley who is a decent player in his own right but if a talent such as Hayne exists you MUST play him in his natural position where he has played all season. If Gidley can fit in as a Craig Wing type off the bench utility then good, but picking him over Hayne at Fullback is nuts in my humble opinion.
The one thing they have gotten right is the picking of Michael ‘the Menace’ Ennis at hooker. Any team that includes this competitive niggling machine has a chance of winning any game at any time. Qld coahing staff should pay a lot of attention to what he does and be very wary of the so called “1% plays” he manages to pull off quite often that turn a game in his teams favour. I like watching him play and will enjoy the spectacle whatever the result.
Australia’s own Hector ‘Shango’ Lombard had a most impressive 6 second KO win at the Bellator fighting championships in the states yesterday. I think Dana White and the boys in the UFC really need to work on getting Hector into the UFC as he would be a huge handful for anyone in there. In my humble opinion of course!
