I tried my hardest to support The Man Mundine. I followed his early boxing career with interest, I supported his come back after a shock loss (in my opinion) to Otke and I supported him in his apparent attempts to get a ‘huge’ fight in America while fighting the also-rans that Australian boxing had to offer. I had total support for him during the Danny Green battle and truly thought he would be to good for the ‘Green Machine’ but we have come to the end of our beautiful friendship.

I stopped spending money on Mundine sometime back when I realised that the world of combat sports included a superior alternative when the UFC and the world of mixed martial arts started showing there sport on our screens. A trip to the states in 2005 allowed me to witness a show where not only was the main event worth watching but some real effort was being put into the undercard which in my mind was value for money. Instead of seeing Mundine jab his way to victory over 12 rounds I could see some real competition inside a cage.

Sorry Mundine, in a world where you have to stay relevant your formula is tired and old. You will not get many of us back unless you really think about what your supporters want or hoped you could achieve.

A friend of mine inquired as to whether this was me. It isn’t but I can understand his frustration.

I am sorry, I have sat through enough safety meetings and been pulled up for many a minor safety breach so when it comes to this subject I can no longer sit quietly by.

As far as I am concerned the yearly Christmas lights at peoples houses should be banned by local, state and federal governments. I cannot believe an awesome fun night called cracker night has been removed from the calendar yet we are forced to pretend to be fascinated by electricity.

It is an absolute safety can of wormbs that needs to be stopped before another mouse, rat, possum or stray cat is needlessly zapped by the thoughtless purveyors of these nonsense lights.

It is also a massive drain on our poor electricity providers who are forced to come up with ever increasing power stations just to cope with these selfish nonsense light addicts. These people should be forced to pay extra in the government’s new carbon trading system as a result of their extremely selfish behavour.

I propose new Christmas light laws as follows. One 1.8 meter Christmas tree with a maximum of 17 non flashing LED lights installed on the tree allowed per dwelling. Must be solar powered. Tree must be kept internal to the dwelling with the blinds preferbly closed. Any breach of my new rules will be met by steaming dog turds hurled at said dwellings front door on a nightly basis until the offending illegal lights are removed.
