Clarke, Hatton and Alonso

I can take or leave Michael Clarke, he doesn’t inspire me as a player or a potential and seemingly future captain of Australian cricket at this stage. It may be because he is younger than me, at 30 I clearly should be captain of Australia before this young 26 year old upstart. I have spoken to a few friends of mine who are older than Ricky Ponting and they seem to feel the same way about him. Just a fact of life I guess, the younger people coming through will always take your chance at glory away from you.

I have watched Ricky Hatton fight a few times now and I am quite looking forward to him coming up against ‘pretty boy’ Floyd Mayweather this Sunday. Ricky is a tough scrapping type of fighter and Mayweather is a technically sound, keep away counter attack type of fighter. I hope these ingredients provide a good fight with a Hatton knockout in later rounds. My money will be on a Hatton victory at juicy odds.

News on the street is that the McLaren F1 team are back in discussions with Fernando Alonso for a possible return to the team next year. Is Ron Denis smoking crack?! This would have to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard and I can not see it happening. Michael Schumacher is more likely to turn out for McLaren next year than Alonso!!

    I can take or leave Clarke as well, but i would’nt mind having a bingle with Lara!

    The reason for Clarke is clever marketing from the ACB in my mind……his misses is hot and they will be the new Leyton and Bec…..therefore exposing cricket to millions of womens day readers……an untapped market.

    Very clever………….even cleverer than using Warne for VB………….

    I think we’re more likely to see Pedro Chaves line up for McLaren this year than Alonso!

    I can’t believe these people continue to overlook Webber. I’m not a support of Webber because he’s Australian, but because he has shown the most potential over the last few years but been disappointed by mechanical failure time and time again.

    Give the man a good car….just like they did with Hamilton this year…and watch him shine!

    Ahhh Pedro Chaves, He was definatley under utilised.

    I agree, Mark Webber is a potential world champ given the right equipment.

    I think Michael Clarke is an excellent nomination for furture Australian captain. Better than having a has bin like Gilchrist as captain!

    I also think Floyd Mayweather will beat Hatton fairly easily. Like he did Oscar.

    If my memory serves me correctly the Mayweather V De La Hoya fight went to the judges cards and was very close. He didn’t easily beat him.

    Part of driving is having the ability to not destroy the car, you need to understand your limts. Makes me reflect on a recent trip south.
