Elite XC

Published by SJ at 1:04 am under General

A serious competitor to the UFC is starting to gather momentum. Elite XC has secured a TV deal with CBS to show four fight nights a year on free to air TV. They are riding high on the on the back of the Tank Abbot V Kimbo Slice fight which took place 2 weeks ago and they are about to present, in conjunction with Strikeforce USA, one of the fights of the year, Frank Shamrock V Cung Le.

Check out some of the excitement from Tank V Kimbo. Don’t blink.

I suppose they both deserve what they get, but it sickens me, what a bunch of losers…I find it frightening that we just have to keep pushing the boundaries. I just hope these idiots get paid well so that they can pay for their medical care in their old age when they are brain dead, have parkinsons, etc, etc.

They get paid ok, depending on their draw capabilities. It can be quite low but you have to start somewhere.

Just like gay people know that they are gay, fighters know that they should fight. I prefer they do it in a cage with a willing opponent than with some poor unwilling participant in the street.

    Each to their own however.

Its good to see the quality of these fights before I purchase them on pay per view. At least its action packed. Why does the referee stop the fight in the middle for?

Overall it wasn’t pretty but it was still better than half the boxing matches.

I prefer the skill and technique of professional boxing. The sort of fighting portrayed in the video clip is gruesome, archaic and voyeuristic in my opinion. I don’t get much enjoyment from watching it. It’s like following motorsport but only wanting to see the crashes. But I guess if that’s the sort of thing that turns you on then go for it. Explains why there is so much crap on TV these days – obviously all you “cage-fighter” types have a powerful voice when it comes to programming. Gems like Today Tonight, Big Brother and When Animals Attack are the sad products of your genre…….

I would be interested to know what you superior boxing types watch?
