Hotels are hell

Published by SJ at 9:55 pm under General

I recently read an article describing the embarrassing things that hotel employees find in guests rooms after they have checked out.

Australian travel agencies Last Minute.com.au, Wotif.com and Travel.com.au conducted the survey on various hotels around the country.

They found out that two sheep, a man handcuffed to the bed, a motorcycle, an adult Spiderman costume, a prosthetic leg, a cat, wedding dress, underwear and a deceased man were included in the list of things left behind.

Most shocking were the numerous occasions where guests have forgotten their sex toys.

Meanwhile, the most commonly left behind items included mobile phone chargers, toothbrushes, underwear, belts and wallets.

What I don’t get is when anyone, Prime Minister down signs into a hotel room you must provide a phone number, address and when you actually sign the form you are making a ‘personal guarantee’ for the room. Most of you do not realise the far reaching effects this could have on your life but luckily most of the time nothing goes wrong.

Regardless, my annoyance lies in the fact that I have stayed in numerous hotels and accidentally left behind many different items including phone chargers, belts and in one case a pair of pants. In NONE of these cases did the hotel contact me to confirm I had left behind the item.

Thanks very much hotels! Thanks for all the Vodka shot bottles filled with water, for the lemonade bottles filled with water, for the wake up calls at 4am, for the totally fooked up room service orders, for the parking spots smaller than a scooter, for the elevators that don’t work, for the fridges that keep everything room temperature, for the air conditioners that do nothing for the charming staff at the front desk…. Oh and thanks for calling me when I leave my iPOD behind!

I rarely stay in em but that sounds a bit bloody rude. Courtesy would dictate that they call you surely.

I’m sure most of the stuff left behind goes into the pockets of hotel staff.

Sif you ever had an ipod SJ! You’ve always been ‘anti’ anything that’s trendy
