India V Australian – WW3
At the risk of limiting this blog to people interested in Cricket (only about 1.4 billion people) here goes.
Australia won a sensational & controversial match yesterday in a close and truly exciting finish. One minute I was lamenting Michael Clark’s absolute hopelessness the next I was cheering for him and suggesting he was the greatest cricketer EVER… I tend to get overexcited.
The match had everything. The best part about it was the closeness of the game and evenness of both sides. The worst part was the sooking about the sledging. Why are Andrew Symond’s and team getting so upset about racism calls. When I was at primary school being called Monkey was reason for celebration and meant you could blow air out your lips as you brushed your fingers across your lips back and fourth. You could also fly on carpets.
Is it so offensive? I don’t understand how it can be racist if one darker chap is giving it to another darker chap? Maybe some of you can explain this one to me. Either way it’s better to just get on with the game and let the scoreboard tell the story.
The whinging about umpiring also gets me. You just take it! If you get a good decision well good luck to you. Rest assured, a bad decision is never far away. So as far as sooking about the umpires I suggest you shut the hell up India or the 1.4 billion of you won’t be enough to stop me from thrashing some sporting etiquette into each and every one of you!
*Disclaimer
Threats of thrashing will be delivered one at a time at a location to be determined by the writer. Air fares and accommodation not included.
I have just read a list of sledges that the Indians should use next game. Jack Marx remains on fire at a new location. You can read the article here… An A-to-Z of acceptable Aussie sledges.

Clarke got lucky, but how exciting was it!. He has redeemed himself slightly, since he did get more wickets than runs. Don’t forget, when he bats next he is on a hat trick.
———–
Didn’t he get 1 run in the second innings? or is there some other type of hat-trick you are talking about?
SJ
“aaahh Grasshopper” winners are grinners.
Its like when 1 fat bloke sledges another fat bloke, whats wrong with these blokes?
It’s the monkey that should be offended they would never carry on like that!!
I wouldn’t call either of these blokes dark they both about 6:45 pm on a summers day
————-
Thank you for picking up on the Monkey line. Yes they are tanned, I agree with your fat man on fat man comments.
SJ
Shirvy, I was just wonderuing if you can enlighten me on how your Club Waugh horses are going. Have any run recently and if so how much did you bet on them?
————
How bout I enlighten my fist into your face? For those playing at home Mr Gilly won paying $7.60. I was not on as I had forgotten to check when it was next running.
SJ
oh bugger!
———-
It was frustrating.
SJ
“Clarke got Lucky” what an understatement however when i hit her she didnt perform. Looks good on the arm though.
————–
“When I hit her”…. What fantasy land are you living in Rat Warne? Say hi to the skinny cool version of me while you are there champ.
SJ
This must be the real Warnie! Please confirm?
The game was sensational, I agree with you SJ. However, there was no need for it to be as close as it was in the end. Ponting erred considerably by not declaring earlier. Poor umpire’s decisions aside, we could have still won the match.
I also agree about accepting the umpires decision.
I DISAGREE with your condoning of racial abuse. I like to sledge with the best of them, but even I won’t cross that line.
—————
I wasn’t condoning racial abuse. I just didn’t understand what the racial abuse was. Boof Lehman made racial abuse perfectly clear to me. I am just not sure what the problem is with the alledged statements made. I hope we are not racially offending you in any way iamasmartman.com?
SJ
Exactly how was Clarke lucky Tongue? He bowled 3 great balls (admittedly to bunnies) under the sort of pressure that only Shirvys belt can understand and got the result he richly deserved. I would also like to know what ‘hat-trick’ I should be looking out for in Perth you niff?
On the sledging issue, why is it that it’s only racist when it’s said to a dark person? Should we sook when they give it to us about having small penises? Or not being able to sing? Or dance? Or run fast? Etc……
————-
Yes I agree Fat Simon, it seems unfair that you have a small penis and must accept these comments without retribution. I think the Reverend Jesse Jackson should have a good close look at this subject. He does have you there however Tunksy…..
SJ
It seems that you have uncovered a new reader!!
Why is it that this site seems to attract overweight racists obsessed with male sexual organs?
This new guy started out funny and then stooped to using insulting racial generalisations.
No SJ I am not offended by the racism but I do believe it is poor form.
I will criticise a person’s weight; because they can make healthier choices.
I will criticise a person’s partner; because they chose them.
I will criticise a person’s taste in music; once again because they made a choice.
I will criticise a person’s intelligence; they can work on improving that. etc
But I won’t criticise based on race. In case you were wondering; I am of Asian heritage, but I consider myself Australian.
The reason I am fat iamasmartman.com is that every time I f@#k your sister she gives me a cookie.
Trust me i have no friends as my name says i live in a swamp and i put up signs
smartman just confirmed his penis size for us all. Well done niffboy.
And the reason i’m skinny is Woody drives a faster car than I and there are never any cookies left!
Looks like iamasmartman’s sister is getting heaps of action.
what about redhead abuse??? does that offend iamasmartman.com
Congratulations Woody, you’ve actually thought of something quite clever and amusing. I didn’t think you had the intellect to think of a line of that calibre. Most surprisingly half your comment actually made sense….but please enlighten me by explaining the undoubted hilarity behind your “I live in a swamp, I put up signs” moniker?
Krusty, good to see you looking on the bright side of things. I assume that’s how you keep your sanity in the trailer park.
Tiger, once again in typical Bevan style, your question/point is humourless and doesn’t make sense.
SJ, Fat Bigoted Bevan Simon appeared to be a one comment wonder and not the type of regular reader you wish to attract.
one word “Shrek”
you need to get out out more IASM.com
The Indians are carrying on like a bunch of headless chooks now. How can they burn ethergies of the umpires and Ricky Ponting and turn around and call us bad behaved, unethical and racists?
I have two words for you, uneducated simpletons.
I have 3 words…NEVER TRUST THEM!
iamasmartman.com, don’t bother replying that my comment doesn’t make sense, you’re not supposed to get it you cheap-shotting-chinaman niff!
Fat Simon. Last last 2 deliveries he has faced he has been dismissed. I look forward to seeing him get dismissed first ball to receive his batting hat trick
I am on IASM.com’s side. I think you all understand why, apart from IASM.com
For someone who wants to stop the fighting IASM must not understand his own words. If I did live in a trailer park, at least it would be better than living next to you in a dirt floored hut.
IASM.com heritage is very over rated, just something else to blame your life failings and insecurities on when life jabs you with the pointy end of the stick.
Take Makaybe Diva for instance (true sporting champ) she would have no idea what her breeding was but still made the impossible possible.
I am more concerned with Fat Simons’ small penis. He is a pinhead and he has a small penis. God must have been having a bad day when Fat Simon came around…
I know IASM will take this as a win to see me comment a second time (god knows he needs it and my charitable side took over) but I have to….Firstly well done Tongue for finally coming up with a cover story for your embarassing hat-trick comment – it’s actually almost believable….Secondly IASM, I’m wondering how you come up with your bigoted call?? I was merely questioning how it’s racist when Darren Lehman calls the door to the dressing-room a black c___, but apparently fine for an Indian to call Andrew Symonds a monkey based purely on his ethnic background. As far as I’m concerned both incidents were unacceptable and deserving of punishment. Interesting that Lehman’s suspension was copped on the chin whereas the Indians are threatening to take their bat & ball and go home….
Interestingly again, we both have the same view on sledging based upon race, yet you still feel the need to attack me personally by perpetuating the “all white people are racists” myth. Once again I ask, why is it that it’s racist when a white person says it but not when he’s on the receiving end? And why was it ok with you that I made a joke about SJ being fat, but not when I dared to suggest that a non-white person was racist (even though I actually did it by making fun of myself) after he made a blatantly racist comment??
Well well Woody the W@nker either you are a dumb fat plagiarising bevan or you have set me up with a gem of a gotcha. As you are all probably acutely aware, I tend to stir up trouble on a few sites at a time. (Notasmartman.com is one of the poorer ones around in my opinion.) Well I just embarrassed myself on 2 other sites by taking the liberty of using a version of “your” great line myself on some other poor saps.
As these 2 sites highlighted to me IT WAS NOT AN ORIGINAL!!!!!!
I Healy to Ranatunga: “Why are you so fat?”
Ranatunga in Reply: : “Because everytime i f**k your mum she gives me a cookie”
Hear this….Vengeance will be mine!!
Rob B, you’ve finally said something intelligent and worthwhile. Keep it up.
Megamanmoorey, as you name suggests, you are obviously a fat bevan whose ego size is rivalled only by the size of your girth. Your comments prove you are a racist as well.
Tunksy, Krusty has misled you. I appreciate the offer, but unfortunately for you, I am NOT gay!
Fat Simple Simon, silly semantics do not excuse your racism. Re-read your own comments. It’s that stereotyping that perpetuates the problem!
Krusty, easy low blow.
Please people, do you have the brains to develop some sledges without resorting to racial slurs?? Other sites have risen to my challenge.
Go back to the other sites IASM.com. Are you sure you are not in bed with Rob B and in fact GAY! (Many apologies Rob B) Not that there is anything wrong with that – Can’t say I have can’t say I haven’t. Anyway, what makes you so high and mighty and such a superior being?
Fair suck of the sav, I never said that I made that comment up, as this started out as a cricket themed thread I thought I would use a well known (as you have discovered) cricketing sledge (possibly one of the greatest ever delivered).
Can we have a show of hands as to how many other people didn’t know where this sledge came from….anybody ……. anybody …….. ANYBODY.
It was you who used the “comment” without researching where it may have come from and in the words of the great Justin Timberlake “what goes around comes around” …….
but FYI Justin didn’t invent that saying either, wouldn’t want you to embarrass yourself again.
8….9….10 Stop the fight
For a person that preaches racial tolerance you don’t seem to have much tolerance yourself, you should use other peoples differences to learn, not bag them out because they differ from yours. I’m guessing I’m a fair bit older than you and I’ve probably forgotten more original stuff than you have ever thought of using, dam that evil drink. “It was a woman that led me to drink and I didn’t even have the courtesy to get her name.” You probably have many valuable comments to add to this site but trying to second guess who I am what I think or what I look like is not one of them
Maybe you should spend less time on the internet and more time interacting face to face with people and you may just learn more, the internet is a very unreliable place to search for facts. as i have said before you need to get out more.
As far as the vengeance thing goes, I’ve been got by 50% of the people who use this site. (wait there is something ticking in my trailer or are you wanting my first born)
Here is another of my favorite sayings “your so dumb you give me a horn”
take your time research where it came from and work out what it means before you use it.
I’ve said it before you need to get out more.
Aah IASM your lack of intellectual depth has been thoroughly exposed. A pizzling from Woody (and yes Woody you are right, everyone else knew exactly where that quote was from and you set him up beautifully!!) and your lack of a decent reply to my comments….are you really that easily beaten? Clearly my stereotypical examples were used to keep the mood of the discussion from getting too heavy and as I commented in a later post, actually made fun of my own racial heritage….
It’s easy to come out with one response to someone’s comment but a little harder once the exchanges really get going isn’t it champ??? Perhaps you should leave this site to the big boys (intellectually I mean before I’m forced to read one of your typically obvious fat jokes)…
Yes Sneak, it was indeed a bad day for god, however not nearly as bad as that of my poor parents….
This is from the Indian news paper ‘The Times of India’ and as follows it shows the true racists. The Indians.
Well, we’ve won. Not the Test series, but at least a moral victory. What has transpired in the past few days has definitely not been cricket. In the 2nd Test we played our hearts out, but the umpires gifted the match away to Australia. If that wasn’t enough, Harbhajan was slapped a three match ban for alleged racial abuse against Andrew Symonds. The ban came after an apparent one-sided hearing by match referee Mike Procter. Indian skipper Anil Kumble reacted by saying that “only one team played in the right spirits.” In the days that followed, the cricketing world and the public rose up in anger at the treatment meted out to Team India. But Justice has been done. Steve Bucknor has been removed from officiating in the remaining India-Australia Test series and Harbhajan Singh has been cleared to play pending his appeal against the ban. When we carried out a forum asking whether Team India should abandon the Australia series we received thousands of responses in favour of pulling out of the series if justice was not done.
Cricket has become a rich game and India has had a part to play in that. Ajay, who wrote to us from Pune, feels that if we have the muscle we should flex it. He says “If Indian team and BCCI not only using cricket for money making, and there is any self respect as an Indian Team India should return back immediately. ICC is becoming rich only because of Indian cricket, still we get humiliated by them again & again. We also need to ban Australian players from taking part in BCCI IPL starting from April.” Deepak from Dubai concurs “India should show their might at the cricketing world and not fall prey to the gimmicks of anyone. BCCI should call off the tour immediately. We might have to pay some financial penalty but it shall be a huge loss of credibility for ICC.”
Jagdish Taneja writing to us all the way from Kent, UK, says “Aussies are behaving bigger than the game of cricket!! No other country dared to challenge their behaviour. I think India should abandon the tour and start getting ready for the next tour.”
Vershal Sharma from India feels we need to take a tough stance. “Yes, India should abandon the series and show the Kangaroos that this is a Chak de India and we won’t tolerate nuisance. Also tell them “thank you and don’t come to India in future.” Ram writing to us all the way from USA agrees “Yes, India should not continue in Australia. India need to stand up and show the world that we mean business. India should not be a pushover.”
Rajesh from India fells that “Bad umpiring decisions is one thing.. But ‘bad umpiring decisions obviously dictated by one of the team’ is absolutely different. Cricket is becoming wrestling matches. I just lost whatever respect I had for Australia.” Manjunath from Bangalore feels that apart from the umpiring, even Australia has not played in the right spirit. He says “Yes, India should abandon the tour and there is no other option instead of playing this kind of cricket. In fact, we should have not gone there to play. Only Australians can play this type of cricket.”
Subhasis Sen who has been a witness to the match feels “I live in Brisbane, Australia. I have been watching the saga for quite sometime and firmly believe that Indians must go back to restore their honour. The Australians have no business in calling someone home to play and then harass and abuse them and cheat them. BCCI should call back the team; the Indian media must come out strong and combat the Australian media. The ICC should be confronted for this pathetic state of affairs. It is honour – that comes first – not the money that calling off a tour might entail.”
Franco Fernandes from Goa feels that all has not been cricket. He says “Australia’s cricket ploys have always been sledging if their strategy does not pay dividends. They are known for employing this tactic against all cricket playing nations. This time Bhajji was targetted by Andrew Simonds because Bhajji was responsible for the failure of captain Ponting on all occasions. Secondly, they were hell bent upon achieving the record 16th continuous Test win by means fair or foul. They also seem to have succeeded in fixing all the match umpires. It’s worth investigating into match fixing. Let us see, if our BCCI is giving in to Australian and the white man domination of cricket, despite being almost single handedly financed by Indian sponsors.” V S Naick from Kerala shares the opinion. He says “Cricket is no more a gentleman’s game. Australia have proved that they are champions of sledging in cricket and not the gentleman’s game. It is high time to teach them a lesson and let India put a start to it…If allegations/match ban against Harbhajan is not withdrawn, let us call it quits. India cannot bear both ..I mean the second Test loss as well as Bhajji’s ban.”
Vixks writing to us from Bangalore feels that were justice not to be done India must pull out of the series. He says “Yes, India must pull out of the series. Many would think the same. Moreover, we would only earn respect if we make sure that we stand by our fellows when they needed us the most. Pulling out will also set an example for the world that the injustice done to Harbhajan and especially the Indian team will not be taken lightly.” GV Subrahmanyam writing to us from Visakhapatnam, says “Yes, India should abandon the series and return home. It will be a lesson for Australia, as they can not receive an adverse result against them. The Umpires Steve Bucknor in particular, have always been biased against India.”
Tunksy, may I clarify that I am not superior to everyone, just to most of the contributors to this site. This group appears to be a very insular set with moronic bevan/bogan-like ideals.
Woody “would be amazing if he thought of something clever himself” W@anker, I’m not too narcissistic to admit that you have taught me a lesson. Beware I learn quickly! Are you at all embarrassed that you are perhaps the least original individual on the whole world-wide web? I lack tolerance of regressive losers like yourself, not genuine individuals who take the time to listen to others from outside of their precious circle. Research your own senseless quotes.
Fat Simple Small Penised Simon, I see that your limited vocabulary has driven you to make up words now – “pizzling.” Charming. I’m so sorry for not realising your altruistic reason for perpetuating racial stereotypes. (note my sarcasm)
Audience, who really believes that the purpose of Simple Simon’s original comments was a big-hearted “to keep the mood of the discussion from getting too heavy?” or is this a case of a Retrospective Fat Bigoted Bevan (with a small conscious) being caught out and backpedaling like his life(or on-line credibility) depended on it??
Is it getting a little tough for you now Simple Simon?
I would be if like you I had tried to claim it as my own.
Can I suggest to you that this site was developed for people to offer their opinion on things and not a forum for you to put people down.
Offer your opinion with out the senseless name calling (you have called me fat 3 times but we have never met so how would you know?) and if it makes logical sense people may even follow your example. I’m quite happy for people to call me fat once they have met me because I’m comfortable in my own skin and I don’t need continual re-enforcement from some other person to know I am doing all right.
This will be the last reply I make to you as I don’t have the the time to waste on reading your comments….. no thats not true I just can’t be bothered reading your crap any more so good luck with your racial tolerance stance and I hope you are able to become a constructive contributer to this forum.
No catching out here tiger, I stand by everything I’ve said. To summarize and avoid confusing you further, I’m against Harbhajan’s racist remarks as well as any others made to anyone on the cricket field or elsewhere. I just find it offensive that it’s only racist when a white person says it.
Or maybe you’re right and I should feel sorry for poor Harbhajan, being picked on mercilessly by the nasty, cheating (still haven’t actually worked out how we cheated), racist (even though the racism was directed as us, apparently we are the racist ones) Aussies….how dare they stand up for one of their own and expect the same punishment that they have received in the past themselves!!
Well done on the “is it getting a little tough for you now Simple (well done on that one to by the way, haven’t heard it since Primary School) Simon” comment. A nicely worded regurgitation of my previous comments to you.
PS. If you want to start on our use of correct English, perhaps you might look up the correct spelling of the word conscience…
Woody, are you saying you can’t handle me calling you names big man? Sorry I thought you had a thicker skin than that! I have been stating my opinion and I believe it has at times been constructive to discussion.
# Fat Simon on 09 Jan 2008 at 11:49 am
No catching out here tiger, I stand by everything I’ve said. SO YOU MADE YOUR POST TO “keep the mood of the discussion from getting too heavy” RATHER THAN FOR CHEAP RACIST LAUGHS?? To summarize and avoid confusing you further, I’m against Harbhajan’s racist remarks as well as any others made to anyone on the cricket field or elsewhere. I just find it offensive that it’s only racist when a white person says it. THAT STATEMENT IS RACIST. WHO SAYS IT’S OK FROM ANYONE?? IS IT OK FOR ME TO SAY BECAUSE I’M CHINESE I’M GOOD WITH COMPUTERS?? NO IT’S NOT!!
Or maybe you’re right and I should feel sorry for poor Harbhajan I NEVER SAID THAT, being picked on mercilessly by the nasty, cheating (still haven’t actually worked out how we cheated) IRRELEVANT TO OUR DISCUSSION, racist (even though the racism was directed as SPELT “AT” us, apparently we are the racist ones WHO SAID THAT? NOT I.) Aussies….how dare they stand up for one of their own and expect the same punishment that they have received in the past themselves!! AN EYE FOR AN EYE HEY? HOW ANTIQUATED CAN ONE PERSONS IDEAS GET??
Well done on the “is it getting a little tough for you now Simple (well done on that one to by the way, haven’t heard it since Primary School) Simon” comment. A nicely worded regurgitation of my previous comments to you. THANKS FOR MISSING THE IRONY EINSTEIN
PS. If you want to start on our use of correct English, perhaps you might look up the correct spelling of the word conscience… ISN’T ENGLISH SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR 1ST LANGUAGE??
Alright IASM, given that we are the only two still commenting on this topic I’m going to make this my last one and move on. OF COURSE RACISM ISN’T OK FROM ANYONE, THAT WAS MY POINT FROM THE START! My frustration is caused by the fact that the Indians are so outraged that one of their team members is being punished for racism. If memory serves me correctly there were calls for Darren Lehman to be outed for even longer when his racist outburst was being punished. Aussies didn’t threaten to cancel tours and carry on the way the Indians are. They accepted that Lehman had done the wrong thing and should be punished. These contrasting reactions are examples of the behaviours that are behind my “why is is ok for black people to be racist but not white people” question. Obviously I don’t actually believe that to be the case, it’s just one of the explanations available when trying to understand the attitudes of the Indians to this situation.
My jokes about black guys teasing us about having small penises etc were a genuine attempt to keep the topic from getting too serious but you have the right not to believe me and I really don’t care anymore. As mentioned earlier they were supposed to poke fun at white people not black people but if you find me making fun of myself offensive then I apologise.
I never accused you of saying we should feel sorry for Harbhajan and the comments on us cheating and being the racist ones are relevant because they are all a part of SJ’s original topic and central to my argument. You may not have said any of it but it has all been reported in the Indian papers.
You are drawing a pretty long bow with the ‘eye for an eye’ call. All I’m asking for is a level playing field. You are suggesting that we’ve gone looking for a dark person to punish for racism just to square the ledger. That’s clearly not the case. He broke the rules and we are merely asking that he be judged and punished in the same manner as previous offenders. Is that really unfair?
As for your last comment, you really are showing a penchant for assumptions aren’t you? What you will find is that I’m no more Australian than you are. And even if I was, you chose to start picking up on language errors, I just called you on it. You can’t pick a fight with a boxer and then complain when he beats you up that it’s not fair because he does it for a living.
PS. Sneak, you can SOMB.
Nice try Simple. You are not the most intelligent sole in the country but you sure are persistent (and verbose!) Unfortunately you are not exactly helping your fellow “new Australians” in our plight against racism even if you don’t understand the subtle discrimination that you purvey. If only you were able to show intellectual sophistication to the level you show resilience?! I do however believe that you mean well.
I too shall move on and we can do battle again on future topics if you have the fortitude to try me again. Can you take another “pizzling?” (I told you I learn fast.)
…or will you go the way of the coward Woody?
