Jamie Lyon – biggest fraud in sport

Published by SJ at 5:59 am under General

For the last few weeks Jamie Lyon has been telling anyone who will listen that he does not want to play origin football anymore. Basically he said he was retired from rep football. Much debate occurred as a result of this decision none of which made any sense to me. If the bloke doesn’t want to play no one can make him pure and simple.

Then a couple of weeks ago the bright sparks of NSWRL decided to select Lyon from the country team to play against city in the annual city v country game. Further debate occurred as to whether Lyon would play the game or stand aside sighting his “retirement from rep footy” statement as a valid reason not to play. He then defied all logic and played for country for reasons I am not sure of but can only assume he felt sorry for them.

Then today after his Manly side beat a dreadful Parramatta, Lyon made the following statement when asked if he would play for NSW in the origin series “If they pick me, I will play”.

You dirty rotten liar Jamie Lyon!!! You have systematically lied your way through your whole career and you continue to do so. You left Parramatta because you were “home sick” and then promptly moved to England to play super league. You then told your English team that you were retiring back to Australia and did not want to continue your league career anywhere so they release you and now you are back playing full time. And now you lie about not wanting to play origin and look who is suddenly on the cusp of playing. Jamie Liar!

I am actually hopeful he is picked and plays because I do not rate him that highly and think the Queensland back row will tear his lying lips apart.

I like him and hope he plays. The parra thing was just a way out of the club and mainly away from the coach so no problem for me there. Didn’t hear about the England thing but sounds like the same deal.

The origin comments were made just to keep his name in front of selectors and it looks like it has worked. More power to him.

I think he is a pretty good player and am happy he is ging to play origin for us. We are pretty desperate to win one now and the way he has been playing may be just enough to get us the victory.

Have the NSW selectors learned nothing???

I was a big fan of Jamie Lyon when he was at the Eels, and he was easily the best centre going around in those days, but as a NSW fan I don’t want to see him in the team. For years Qld has been competitive or won series on the back of players who purely and simply wanted to be there. Quite often they don’t stack up against the blues side on paper, but that seems to matter little in comparison to the passion they show.

Now we’re going to put our fate in the hands of a bloke who sooked his way out of Parra just because the coach was a bit of a hardarse, and doesn’t even want to play rep footy???

Pick Cooper and that try scoring machine from the Panthers and be done with it. At least they’ll show a bit of pride in playing Origin.

NSW will get smashed and be the biggest losing NSW streak ever and that is saying a lot for a loser state.

It’s no coincidence BLUE rhymes with POO……………

    Good luck with that!

    Just like turnstile Lockyer, overrated!

1st true words ever muttered by the Skunk! Well half true – Lockyer can’t tackle & is overrated but Jamie Lyon can & is NOT overrated.
You Canetoads always overrate your teams & players. That passion myth is just that!

IASM we may just let you have your way and take Lockyer out of our origin team.

Now……who can we replace him with?
    - Inglis
    - Prince
    - Hunt

….I’m sure there are endless options we have here. Maybe Langer can make another comeback?

    All overrated.
Anasta will destroy whoever you pick!

Sorry to say Dipstick – Anasta is overrated as well. Thank christ Finch is no longer at the Rossters. I hate to say it but my much loved Roosters are full of has beens or overerated players. They should take a long hard look at themselves

    Mason
    O’Meley
Anasta – to say a few

At least Fiztgibbon will try every game and unfortunately Pearce is being mentored the wrong way by Anasta.

Skunk, you are no Rooster supporter!!

I’m an Anasta fan. He needs to be on the bench (at least) for Origin, to cover 5/8 and lock. Gidley at 5/8 so he gets plenty of ball, Hayne at fullback (yes I’m an Eels fan but that’s not why, he’s just a freak), Wallace at halfback.

If you guys aren’t going to use Scotty Prince, can we have him? Please don’t drop Lockyer, his defense is our only chance of points. Hunt is hugely overrated. Anyone can run the ball back hard. I’d like to see him actually do something creative like Slater, Gidley, Stewart, Hayne etc.

I am a Roosters supporter – Just Not a Bondi Bulldog supporter!
