Lunch time blues

Published by SJ at 2:58 pm under General

Oh what to have on my sandwich today…

I am sick and tired of sandwiches and am in the need for some new type of lunches. Quick easy and reasonably healthy. Here is a list of the typical sandwiches I have each week and I am hoping you guys may have some other suggestions or variations that I may be able to try.

Peanut butter
Peanut butter & honey
Vegimite
Cheese and vegimite
Ham
Ham and pickle
Ham and mustard (today’s delight)
Ham and salad
Egg and salad
Curried egg
Cheese and onion
What have you got??

I was always a big fan of vegemite and honey – kind of sweet and sour. Dont you like chicken? Get a job in the city and then you will be spoilt for choice with all the food courts around.

Vegimite and honey? Surely you jest. Forgot about chicken…. maybe if is deep fried.

I like your style – Pose a question on the website and take the feedback to your mum. Does she cut your sandwiches in half our quarters?

Halves champ. You should like my style, I modelled it on your work ethic.

  3. I make the kids sushi sandwiches and the lunch box comes home empty every time.
Start with your favorite slice of bread
Roll flat with a rolling pin and cut off the crusts. (or just use flat bread)
put on your ham, cheese, pickles and salad
then roll them up like sushi rolls eat and enjoy!

    Other suggested fillings:

Crab meat and avacado (canned crab meat is fine)
    prawn and avacado
left over chicken tikkha sliced nice and thin (assuming you have left overs)
Sandwich style tuna, soy sauce and wassabbi (just don’t make it too wet)

    Toasted sandwiches with a difference.
put down a few layers of puff pastry instead of bread on the toasted sandwich maker, fill with last nights left over Indian curry/ Italian or any other filling you may desire, top off with more pastry and cook.

    Desserts:
    use a toasted sandwich maker
put down a few layers of puff pastry
add apple slices, cinnamon sugar top off with more pastry and cook
top with custard or cream. Hot apple turn overs in minutes!

Thank you for the clarification of ‘assuming you have left overs’ I was a little concerned about my reputation. There are some good ideas there though.

Sushi sandwiches left in a bag in the sun? Any side effects from this one?

What about a warm seafood extender milkshake with a pubic hair on top?

Worst writing so far. What are you going to discuss tomorrow, your favourite colour?

Sorry champ. Your suggestion is noted?

Woody, you have to much time on your hands. SJ, try KFC left overs on your sandwiches.

I’m going to have The Spaniard make me some of those sushi sandwiches tomorrow. They sound gold. I may wash them down with a Shirvy Milkshake special as well.

I am going to agree with Marteen, but stick some ham in there as well.

Or better yet, get tuckshop at work salary sacrificed – http://www.fleximeals.com.au/

Definitely recommended if you can get your employer to organise it.

I get smoked salmon, capers, roasted vegies, avocado, sundried tomato on turkish bread for ~$7.50 before tax.

Obviously teachers are paid TOO much if you can afford $7.50 for lunch every day Ms Rabbit

I’m Mr Rabbit, Mrs Rabbit is the teacher!

I don’t have it every day. And maybe you should investigate what before tax means.

I’m sure you don’t have it every day as your name suggests and yes I do know what before tax means. I should have realised that on a school teachers wage that this would impact significantly
