Man Drought?

Published by SJ at 1:27 pm under General

As I flicked through the dial last night I happened on the end of the truly hard hitting news show A Current Affair. As I pondered suicide a story come on about women in their 30’s being unable to find a partner due to an apparent “man drought”.

Amusing as this was I thought I should watch the story to see what scientific evidence they had to back up this drought claim. The only ‘evidence’ presented was the testimony of 3 women who have scoured the dating scene and come up empty, thus the conclusion of a drought. The cause of the problem is that apparently the men prefer the younger women and no one is interested in the slightly older women. Thank you captain obvious! My concern is that these women are unable to deduct that they should be pursuing men older than them ie. The 33 year old male prefers a 23 year old partner perhaps these women should be chasing the 43 year old men?

But that won’t do, these women are unwilling to accept that. Unfortunately these women (I love saying that by the way) these women refuse to accept the fact that they have painted themselves into a corner.

Their biological clocks are running out of battery power
Their looks are slowly ummm lets be nice ..changing
They are not rich enough to buy a house and have a sperm donor baby
Their personalities are ‘borderline’ proven by the fact that they are still single

And they think that men are going to go out of their ways to imprison themselves (get married/shack up) with them?

It is the man with the upper hand in this negotiation and it is time you started to understand your position. You won’t attract a suitable mate with the heifer type behaviour you continue to employ. Maybe you should take a class in ‘how to please men’?

Ladies, the ball is in your court.

I think these women should have employed the same ethos of courting that I had mastered in my younger days.

    1. Go ugly early
    2. if a lady is lower than your standards, lower your standards

I was lucky enough to see that segment as well Shirvo. None of them floated my boat. Maybe IASM might be able to charm them with his appealing personality.

    Good luck with that one.

Your attacking women again….. sounds like your mother did a job on you.

SJ, you are disgracefully insensitive. My Aunty is in the same predicament as those poor helpless individuals & she is adamant that it is extremely difficult to attract an appropriate suitor. The attitudes of guys like you is exacerbating the problem.
Krusty, I am actually popular amongst my group of friends & they appreciate my personality.

I am so popular. You sound like a little kid tring to prove youself to everyone.

Your aunty is oviously suffering from the same problems discused in the article. She needs to have a good look at herself as dose her dim witted nephew.

You can’t fault his argument though….

Do you want to dance Fat One?

Sorry champ, my heterosexuality precludes me from participating in any form of dancing.

I had been about to suggest that you should try men, given your complete, 100% lack of luck with the ladies, but congrats on finally reaching that conclusion yourself. All power to you for taking that first tentative step out of the closet….

I am 34, earn $105,000 a year (including my investments), live in Sydney and am an Optometrist. I often get graduate professional women in their 30′s after me. I do not really care if my potential girlfriend has a degree or not and in fact some professions put me off women, for example I have had three female Lawyers after me and I turned them all down. I could just imagine one of them trying to pin some false charge on me if I broke up with her, and me forced to spend a lot of money defending myself! Due to our gender biased towards girls education systems (which is another reason why I do not like dating graduates), there are more female Optometrists under the age of 35 than male. I do not like socialising with them however, as I prefer women outside of my profession. My current girlfriend owns a flower shop and was born in Laos. At the rate we are going, I might ask her to marry me.
