My Yahoo

Published by Shirvy at 6:18 am under General

I have just found a pretty handy way to set up your home page with all sorts of information you want on it.

A bit like the www.google.com/ig function there major competition Yahoo present to us the new my Yahoo home page option.

Welcome to the world of au.my.yahoo.com

Load this bastard up and from here you can pre set any number of items to your personal preference. Some examples are…..

Your yahoo email account (if you have one)
Your news stories ranging from international, local to business and sport
A calendar with event planner with events schedule
A briefcase for your files making them common on any computer in the world
Currency converter (handy in my business)
Basic TV Guide (only ABC I can find so far)
Comics (I love a daily dose of Garfield. Pity Dilbert hasn’t signed up)
Weather information
Horoscopes (if you go that way)
A calculator (very handy)
And the item I find very useful a stock portfolio list. This allows you to enter in all you stock ticker codes and allows you to keep track of them with only a 20 minute delay from the actual trade price. Absolute Gold

All you need to do is visit the above page. Set up an account and you are away choose your preferences save it as your home page and you are away.

Thats pretty good actually I set one up just before. I can’t find the calculator but have managed to set up the share market information.

Finally you are back to positive subjects and trying to be helpful. Good work

Did you buy the UFC fight on the weekend Rob B?

The Brock Lesnar fight wasn’t much of a spectacle unfortunately, but the title fight was just how i imagine the much anticipated fight between you and IASM.

I have never seen this before but it seems prety handy. I am having trouble setting up the email preview but it looks like you have to have a yahoo email account. But the rest of it looks good.

Yes you need to have an existing yahoo account. I set mine up and it works well.

The fights were great Velcro. Pretty brutal sport but enjoyable. Not interested in talk of fighting IASM, he is a bit to young for that and is no doubt some kick boxing champion and body guard to the stars.

If my yahoo supports RSS feeds you should be able to setup dilbert. I use igoogle + google reader but I presume the yahoo thing should do something similar.

    RSS feed for dilbert is
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/DilbertDailyStrip?format=xml

I also find xkcd amusing… a bit nerdier than dilbert though.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Velcrap. I’m assuming that one “fighter” destroyed the other and you correctly believe that I would destroy Boring in a similar fashion.
Little Scared Bobby Boring, I’m not a thuggish kick boxer, I’m level 8 Shaolin Kung Fu you poorly bred big-headed twit! Yes I may be friends with a number of high-profile individuals within the commerce, sporting & entertainment industries, but I am not their official bodyguard.
Jethro, “trouble setting up the email preview” …..you’d have trouble putting your pants on in the morning you dumb ass!

I’ve just stumbled across this site & it looks OK. Has anybody got any feedback?

Welcome aboard Tripod. I can fill you in on the site if the administrator is too busy. Basically it’s a site where we all comment on topical subjects as chosen by SJ. The individuals who add comments are mostly older blue-collar workers with little or no education. Some of their comments will catch you by surprise in the beginning, but if you become a regular reader like me, you get used to them & it actually provides you with an opportunity to point out to them when they inappropriate. My role is part motivator, part entertainer, part moral compass for the rest of the readers. Please don’t be scared away by the other guys like a lot of readers in the past. Stick with us & you’ll enjoy yourself. They mean well.
Are you a photographer of some sort? What country are you based in?

I think his name means he has a big d*ck.

You can’t be serious K! A tripod is used by photographers & surveyors etc. That’s probably where the moniker was derived.

  11. Krustyon 14 Aug 2008 at 12:13 pm

Have you never heard the term used for someone with a large member IASM?

  12. Megamanmooreyon 14 Aug 2008 at 1:19 pm

I can back Krusty up on this one. I get called that all the time & I am no photographer.
Shirvy, can you please come & set up this yahoo thing for me? It sounds cool.

Tell those sarcastic buggers to leave you alone Megaman.
