Prince Harry on the Money?
Here we go again. Every halfwit with an opinion is into Prince Harry about his racist remarks, disgusted by his apparent lack of respect for the nation of Pakistan.
“Our little Paki friend” is racist how? The dude is from Pakistan. Please let me know if the term Paki has some sort of hidden meaning I am not aware of. I am sure some of you out there will have some fictional reason for this.
If someone called me a “little Aussie friend” I wouldn’t get upset. If the Paki called Harry his “little Pommy friend” I would doubt he would get upset either. Nevertheless every sook to comb a beard is tearing up at the moment.
Even a sacred cow of the Pakistani banking system (a truly honourable industry no doubt) has come out with “He should not have said it. I condemn his words. I was very surprised. I profoundly condemn it.” Oh he profoundly condemns it? Wow that has so much more meaning.
The cow continued “That word he used is a hate word and should never be used against any Pakistani. Prince Harry should apologise to the Pakistani Army and to the Pakistani Government for this. I cannot accept his apology unless they first accept his apology.”
Well I am not quite sure what it feels like to be verbally admonished by an industry leader from a foreign country but the sweet smell of leather glove slapping Harry’s cheek should still be prevalent as you read this.
Are you ok Pakistan? You all right mate? Is the sun still gonna rise tomorrow? A bigger bunch of sparrow hearted whingers I do not recall. I am now happy we don’t bother travelling to your piddly excuse for a nation to flog you in cricket. Sad but true, Paki is regarded as a racist term. I was unaware of it being racist until living in the UK where it was common knowledge. I didn’t understand why, and I put up the same argument as you SJ, but now accept it. It’s just the way that it is.
I may be wrong, but years ago didn’t the cricket commentators refer to ‘Pakis’?

Why would you accept something like that without a valid reason? If it is for any reason other than just the shortening of the nations name from Pakistan to Paki I am happy to hear it. But just because people say “its racist” is not good enough for me.
They have to have a valid reason to get upset. I will not be accepting this and think everyone else should continue with it until they produce a factual reason.

SJ – i don’t think it matters where the origins of the word are. Yes it’s true Paki is short for Pakistani, but if they find it offensive against their race….that makes it wrong. Especially when the term is widely known as being racist.

Velcro, whilst I agree that if they find it offensive then we should refrain from using the term, can someone please explain how this term can possibly be referred to as racist??? It is merely a shortening of the term Pakistani, which refers to a person from the country of Pakistan. There is no reference whatsoever here to a person’s race. Perhaps SJ is right and I should start finding things to complain about. Screw it, from now on, I’m going to write to the papers (as well as those two pinheads Tracy and Anna) every time someone refers to a man as ‘bald’ or ‘short’ or ‘fat’.
Unfortunately, in much the same way as we have allowed our society to become so litigious, we’ve allowed ourselves to become far too sensitive and quick to label things offensive. We particularly like to label them as racist as they are guaranteed to immediately become hot topics.
Before you two knobs respond (you know who you are), I am not racist. I do not make decisions based upon a person’s race. Nor do I make comments to members of another race that are likely to cause offense. I do not condone others doing these things either. That said, I’m sick of people spending so much time complaining. Toughen up and learn to take yourself a little less seriously. You’ll no doubt find yourself enjoying life a lot more.

A race is a grouping of people based upon a set of inherited characteristics, for example skin colour or cranial or facial features. You and I are both Australians, yet your race is Asian and mine Caucasian. You would do well to stop emotion from getting in the way of logical thinking in future young fella.

PS. If you read my blog again you will see that I agreed that if Pakistani people find the term offensive then it shouldn’t be used. For you slower individuals this means that I agree that the judge of what is offensive is the person on the receiving end of the comments. How long has the Pakistani race been in existance? Or did they just magically appear when the border was set up with India? From what little I understand, they fall into the Asian Race. Correct me if I am wrong.
