Some interesting figures from Tabcorp.
Tabcorp today released its annual list of the biggest NSW TAB dividends for the year.
The blowout results on last November’s Emirates Stakes Day resulted in the biggest First 4, Quaddie and Trifecta dividends of 2007/08. The Emirates Stakes day Quaddie of $1.391 million eclipsed the biggest NSW TAB dividend of the 2006/07 racing season, which was a $701,993.60 First 4 on the Caulfield Cup.
Other highlights of the list of 2007/08 NSW TAB record dividends (for $1) included:
The biggest Win dividend was $168.10 for Greet The Day’s win in a South African Maiden Plate on 10 January.
The biggest Win dividend in harness racing was $140.30 (Jaccka Mort at Maryborough, 7 February 2008) and in greyhound racing was $108.10 (Rough Trip Tour at Ipswich, 13 May 2008).
A Muswellbrook Quaddie on 19 May was the highest paying Quaddie on NSW racing, with a dividend of $225,344.
International racing produced another record dividend with Futune’s third placing in an English Class 5 last October producing a $46 Place result.
The biggest harness Place dividend was $31.70 (Gold Cafe at Cobram, 10 April 2008) and for greyhound racing was $16.30 (Southpaw Delaney at Maitland, 22 November 2007).
The surprise wins of Can Opener and Midnight City at Wagga on 1 May 2008 produced the season’s record Running Double dividend of $5,847.30.
A Ballarat greyhound meeting was responsible for the biggest Daily Double of 2007/08. The combination of Booma Flossie and My Little Joice paid $1,894.
The biggest harness racing dividend across all bet types in 2007/08 was $55,402.40 for a Bendigo Quaddie (24 May 2008).
Mount Gambier delivered the season’s highest-paying Exacta with the one-two finish of Run Laurie Run and Johall last September paying $7,786.30.
Two $20,000-plus greyhound racing dividends were recorded – both on NSW events.
International racing set new big dividend records with a $81,427.80 Quaddie on New Zealand (13 November 2007). A $3,098.80 Quinella at South Africa on 30 April 2008 was the biggest paying Quinella of 2007/08 with the NSW TAB.
The majority of the biggest dividends on NSW racing were recorded at country or provincial meetings.
NSW TAB bet on more than 57,000 thoroughbred, harness and greyhound races in 2007/ 08. Racing from all Australian states and territories was bet on, as well as from England, Hong Kong, France, Dubai, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Sth Africa and USA.

Fascinating!
NOT!
You know you’re on a winner when 2 of the planet’s biggest knobs don’t like the topic SJ. Congrats on a great post, one of the more interesting ones of late!!!
Fat One, once again you’re showing a complete lack of understanding of the most basic of business principles! SJ is in the business of e-commerce. Let me dumb this down for you. He makes money through traffic to his site….still with me?…..When he posts a topic that only interests gambling losers within his little clique like you…..he disengages the broader audience & consequentlly loses traffic & money!! Sorry, I know this is beyond your comprehension. Let me try this a different way that you may understand….. if you don’t clean the toilet you don’t get your pay & you can’t gamble it away. Get it you imbecile?
A sympathy comment from me after a topic has sat idle for nearly 3 days is not exactly a booming success!! SJ, lift your game or be contented with satisfying the needs of only the scum of the earth like Fat One!
If I don’t clean the toilet IASM?? I seem to remember having already used that line on you tiger. I know you get pizzled all day and night on this site, but please try not to throw our own lines back at us.
Your reply has given me an immense degree of satisfaction! It has highlighted to the entire audience that the only statement that you understood within the economics lesson I just gave you …was the toliet cleaning component! LOL. You do not help yourself you witless halfwit!
Hey Tiger, why don’t you let us all know what you like to do in your spare time?
Realbiggutz, I’d say he drives around in his V8 wolf-whistling at women, smoking, drinking beer, eating greasy food , gambling, complaining about successful people & making gross bodily noises…just like you! All you bevans are the same!!
Not bad IASM, not bad at all.
Are you hungry Fat One? I hope so, because I’m offering you the chance to dine on humble pie! Have you monitored the SBW saga lately? It would seem he has paid some fiscal compensation & is happily playing union in France with no further legal action pending….just as I suggested it would pan out!!!
I would just like to refresh your memory on some of our “discussions” on the topic;

“…What annoys me is the fact that SBW thinks he can break a legally binding agreement just because someone else offers him a better deal. …”
# iamasmartman.com on 28 Jul 2008 at 9:25 pm
“…..just because the “omnipotent” NRL believes their contract is internationally binding, does not make it so.”
# Fat Simon on 29 Jul 2008 at 8:27 am
“……… there’s a Sydney QC that seems to think that SBW is in trouble. Do you think perhaps he knows more about international law than you?”
DON’T DANCE WITH ME ON TOPICS OF BUSINESS OR LAW….YOU WILL NOT WIN!!
IASM, If the money was not paid, I am sure it would have ended up in court. What we have here is called an out of court settlement.
Krusty, Oh please do not get involved here. You are out of your depth!
Hey, Reeshitz, I put my spare time into brewing hand crafted lagers and ales. I find this hobby actually saves me money and provides me with much more satisfaction that fluching money down my freshly cleaned toilet. I also make babies.
PS, loved the knob comment……very thoughtful.
Also IASM , you seem to have incredible insight into bevans, why would you be so versed in the world of the bevan?
And what depth would that be oh crouching dragon?
You really should get that tiny mind of yours working before you respond sometimes IASM. I enjoyed your Tassie call the other week, and the one about the toilets yesterday deserved the recognition I gave it, but you’ve really done yourself no favours here….
Let’s be very clear. A QC knows more about law, both domestic and international than you. End of discussion. Even if it was up for debate and we agreed to decide the point on this one issue, he got you on this one anyway. As Krusty has so kindly pointed out, SBW has had to pay compensation for breaking his contract, so he was (to use my words) “in trouble”. I’m pretty sure even someone as thick as SBW wouldn’t have paid any compensation if he didn’t need to.
What you will find is this means he couldn’t just break his contract without facing a penalty. It also means the NRL is not as omnipotent as you suggested and that his contract must’ve had some degree of standing internationally.
And finally, I am still annoyed that he thought he could get away with it. I’m as aware as anyone that lots of contracts get signed and then broken at some point before their end date. That doesn’t make it right, and it certainly doesn’t mean I have to like it.
Tigress, I understand bevans because my family & I have dealt with them all our lives. They are born losers who multiply like rabbits & perpetuate the dreadful cycle. I am a kind of crusader on this site trying to ensure you people gain some insight into the way your lives are run & maybe, just maybe, 1 or all of you will hear me & make a change for the better!
Krusty, you sound gay again.
Fat One, not surprisingly you weren’t willing to take your medicine. Anyway the way I see it is this; I have won either 1 of 2 ways; either (1) you have some semblance of intelligence & understand the law a little more intricately than your boorish statements would indicate. In that case you’ll know you’ve been destroyed, even if the simpler bevans amongst your pack may not! or (2) You really believe that what you’re saying is an intelligent point of view. In this case you are just a stupid dumb f@#ckwit that probably has trouble deciding which workboot goes on which foot each morning!
Wow, this response (using the term loosely) is a new low for you IASM. Perhaps you need a holiday?? You’re normally a half-decent challenge, but this is really poor work by your standards.
(2) it is then! Sadly I’m not surprised!!
Hey, Striped Christmas Tree Tiger, who do you share these “hand crafted ales” with?
The same person you are making babies with?……….Loser!!!
