The man is coming.

Published by SJ at 9:54 pm under General

I have thought long and hard and do not remember the last time a world boxing title was fought for in my home city. To those who are a fan of the sweet science you have a real chance to view this in the flesh.

Two time Super Middleweight World Champion Anthony Mundine will take his first step towards becoming a world champion in two weight divisions when he clashes with fellow Australian and IBO Middleweight Champion Daniel Geale, at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, on Wednesday 27May.

Geale, (21 wins, 13 by KO & 0 losses) is arguably Australia’s most under rated world champion. The 28 year old from Launceston remains undefeated in 21 bouts. Mundine is yet to beat an undefeated world champion and would be wise not to underestimate his opponent.

The bout is amazingly Mundine’s first in Brisbane since becoming a professional boxer and he is hopeful the Queensland sporting public will come and support the former Brisbane Bronco.

Details of the undercard will be released over the coming weeks but there was a strong tip that Sonny Bill Williams will be on the card. Lets wait and see.

I am thinking about ponying up for a ticket, anyone else interested?

Hate Mundine. He is a loud mouthed idiot who only fights hand picked opponents. If he ever gets into a half decent fight with a well known opponent I may show some respect but till then he should just keep his big mouth shut.

Why do you really “hate” him Trent? Is it because he is physically more gifted than you or is it because you are being a little racist? Tell the truth mate.

Can’t stand him either but would consider getting along to cheer for Geale. Like Trent, I find Mundine’s mouth very annoying and there’s no doubt the majority of his opponents have been picked out to boost his stats. Admittedly he beat a good opponent in Danny Green, but I believe he also holds the record for the longest kip taken in a boxing ring from his only other attempt at fighting a quality boxer.

Before you start on me too Rob B, I also dislike Mel & Kochie and Darryl Somers.

Howdy guys I’m back. It’s been a pretty sad time for the family & I with Richard Pratt’s death. The upside is that it provided me with one of the proudest moments of my life. Conducting a reading at his funeral was up there with the time I received the university medal. I was exceptionally proud. He was a great man. (I was in some of the media footage if anyone noticed.)
    I will now move on.
You guys are the opposite of Richard. You are all low-life losers who will do nothing with your lives or anything to help the lives of others!!
Mundine shares traits with you guys.

What planet are you from IASM?

On 10 October 2007, Richard Pratt was formally accused of price fixing, cheating customers and companies out of approximately AUD $700 million in the nation’s biggest ever cartel case.
After more than a year of denials Pratt subsequently admitted his guilt, acknowledging he and his company VISY, and “rival” company Amcor deliberately broke the law.[21] Pratt was aggrieved by the criminal prosecution and its effect on his reputation.
On 2 November 2007, Pratt and the Visy group received a A$36 million fine, representing both the largest fine in Australian history and an estimated 0.75% of the Pratt fortune.

So if we are the opposite of him, that makes us poor but honest. I know which one I would rather be. You loser.

I did see a hot dog vendor on the side of the road at Pratts funeral on the news….was that you IASM? Wow…you’re one ugly b@stard! In fact Aerosmith wrote a song about you, Dude looks like a lady.

Pratt is nothing but a selfish white collar crim. Would have loved to see him get his marching orders to his prison cell.

Farteen, you are pitiful continuing with your tall poppy attacks. You can attempt to denigrate Richard all you want. Those of us who were close to him, understood him. You & your type could not dream of understanding our world!!!!! Do your research you fat lazy life long loser before you make unbalanced statements about national heroes again!!
Crap, I didn’t expect you to see me at the service. We didn’t allow low-lifes like you inside. I want to fight you!!!!

Skunk, add value to the site or don’t bother coming back you loser!!
Tigger, don’t let your jealousy manifest as hatred. I will fight you anyday! You DO NOT KNOW GERRY!!

  12. Velcroon 08 May 2009 at 10:38 am

Tiger may not know Gerry, but you don’t know Jack IASM…..The Tiger doesn’t have Teeth, but he’ll still rip you to shreds!

I’m ordering your body bag today. Book yourself a plot beside your mate Pratt.

If, and it’s akin to the chances of SJ winning the marathon at the next Olympics, you did in fact know Richard Pratt IASM, then I can understand your sense of loss.

I can also understand to some degree your thoughts on the man, as we are always much more forgiving of the sins of people we are close to. I have also heard lots of people associated with Carlton talking about him in the same manner and I wouldn’t suggest for a minute that he hasn’t done some good in his time.

That said, I would question your intelligence/commonsense/naivity if you truly hold the bloke Marteeen describes in such esteem. If your life is so empty without an idol to worship then I suggest you have a look elsewhere.
