UFC 82 Predictions

I predict pain.

Main Card
UFC and Pride Middleweight Title unification bout: Anderson Silva vs. Dan Henderson
Two very different fighters Silva can land knees from anywhere and Henderson is very well rounded. Considering Henderson’s performance against Rampage Jackson (a loss yes, but) I am struggling to see how Silva can knock him out. Henderson to eek one out.

Anderson Silva won the fight with a rear naked choke in round two. Both fighters had their chance. 0/1 for SJ

Heavyweight bout: Heath Herring vs. Cheick Kongo
Cheick Kongo by KO

Cheick Kongo came out trying to take his opponent down and lost a points decission. 0/2 for SJ

Middleweight bout: Evan Tanner vs. Yushin Okami

Okami by points

Okami wins by KO in the second round. 1/2 for SJ

Middleweight bout: Chris Leben vs. Alessio Sakara
This on could go either way. Winner, whoever lands the lucky punch

Leben wins by lucky punch in the first round. 2/2 for SJ

Welterweight bout: Jon Fitch vs. Chris Wilson
Fitch, because I have never heard of Wilson.

Fitch wins a boring fight on points. 3/2 SJ

Preliminary Card

Heavyweight bout: Andrei Arlovski vs. Jake O’Brien
Arlovski because his girlfriend is smoking.

Arlovski wins by TKO. 4/2 to SJ

Welterweight bout: Luke Cummo vs. Luigi Fioravanti
Cummo on points.

Cummo loses on points. 4/3 SJ

Welterweight bout: Diego Sanchez vs. David Bielkheden
Sanchez to make up for his last two losses.

Sanchez wins by Submission. 5/3 to SJ.

Welterweight bout: Josh Koscheck vs. Dustin Hazelett
Koscheck in a points win.

Koscheck wins by knock out of the night KO. 6/3 SJ

Lightweight bout: Jorge Gurgel vs. John Halverson
Halverson, because someone I have never heard of surely must win one fight.

Gurgel wins on points. 6/4 SJ

    SJ, are you an odd character??? I have never met anyone with such a contrasting enumeration of interests. You seem to love, amongst other things; computer games, fighting, technology, finance, food, robots, car racing, TV, gambling, nudity, Metallica and any conspiracy theories. Your list of dislikes seems to include; governments, inflation, heat, Asians, Indian cricketers, trailer parks, exercise, work and Heath Ledger fans. How would you categorise yourself? Nerd, Jock, Bevan, Tough Guy, protester??

    I have seen these UFC’s advertised on foxtel. I have been wondering if it is any good or not. I have gotten a few boxing matches on pay per view before but have had some dissapointment with them. Especially when I have bought Mundine fights, some of them have been boring. I guess they may be ok if you are writing about them here. Might give the next one a go.
